Gagwonsa Temple

Gagwonsa temple was the first temple we visited here in Korea, it was built in 1977 and is still a working temple to this day! It is located in the foothills of the Taejosan Mountain. As we were walking around we discussed the artwork and fine detail that was put into this temple. From beautiful colors to fine brush work this temple is beautiful. D and I made a goal of visiting as many temples, palaces as we can while we are here! I am happy to say we were able to knock this one off our list! There is a ton of fascinating history behind this temple and some of the symbols on each building! I uploaded an article I found that goes over the history of them!
